
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)
The Union Public Service Commission is India's central recruiting agency and an independent constitutional body established under Articles 315-323 of the Constitution. It conducts nationwide competitive examinations and interviews for the All India Services (IAS, IPS, IFS) and Central Civil Services Group A and Group B posts, including the Civil Services Examination, Combined Defence Services Examination, and Engineering Services Examination. Beyond recruitment, UPSC advises the Government of India on service rules, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary matters concerning civil servants, and reports annually to the President of India.
