JEE Main 2026 - Session 2

Last updated 31 Jul 2026

Overview

The National Testing Agency has issued an official advisory for candidates appearing in the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026 regarding photograph mismatches with submitted identity proof documents. During the registration process for Session-1, discrepancies were identified between live photographs captured by candidates who registered using non-Aadhaar identity proofs and the records available with UIDAI. To assist affected candidates, NTA is allowing identity verification through a signed and attested certificate containing a recent photograph. While candidates could initially get this certified by their School or College Principal or Headmaster, NTA has expanded the verifying authority to include Class-I Gazetted Officers such as Tehsildars, Revenue Officers, Sub-Divisional Magistrates, District Magistrates, or Class-I Gazetted Officers of the Indian Embassy for NRI candidates. Candidates must upload the attested certificate in PDF format via the link provided in their registered email and present a printed copy at the examination centre on the day of the test for physical verification. Helpline contact numbers and email support are available for candidates facing difficulties.
